GWCS Celebrates Black History Month!

GWCS will celebrate Black History Month with learning experiences, activities, and contests to recognize and honor Black culture, identity, and influence. Twice a week, during morning announcements,  we will start with a Black History Month Trivia question.  Students and staff will be encouraged to research and discuss the answer as they are learning new facts each day.  In addition, we are excited for our K-4 students to participate in a themed door-decorating contest with their homeroom classmates!  Our 5-8 students will have a student assembly. There will also be some grade level activities planned throughout the month to enrich the learning experience. Finally, our students will be able to access and borrow books from our cultural awareness library located in the cafeteria.
