Allison Hart, Kindergarten
Allison Hart is entering her seventh year of teaching Kindergarten, having spent one year in Devon before coming here to Green Woods in 2002. She is a graduate of Cabrini College, with a dual Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree. She has also just completed her Reading Specialist and Special Education certification at Saint Joseph's University. Allison enjoys teaching five and six year olds, and especially enjoys being a part of the process of learning to read!

Allison grew up in Delaware County, and then moved to several locations in the Philadelphia area before returning back to Delaware County last summer. In June, Allison married Michael Fineberg, and the two adopted a puppy named Apple who joined their cat named Jack. They have just become homeowners, and are living in Havertown and enjoying getting settled. They are kept very busy visiting their families who are spread all over the country. Allison is looking forward to another great year at Green Woods!

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO TEACH AT GREEN WOODS
When I came to interview for the Kindergarten position at a brand new school called Green Woods Charter School, I was a little hesitant as I pulled down a long windy gravel road into what seemed like the middle of nowhere.  Then, as I was waiting, I looked through the windows of the Discovery Room.  Just on the other side of the glass, I saw three chipmunks chasing each other, many birds flying back and forth from the Tulip Poplar tree in the window, and two deer approaching the courtyard. It was then that I knew that Green Woods was going to be a wonderful place for children to begin their formal schooling.  It has truly lived up to that first impression.  Seeing the children's faces light up, and eyes widen as they encounter nature on a daily basis is one of my favorite things about teaching at Green Woods!

Dana Lotkowski, Financial Director

Dana Lotkowski is one of the founding members of Green Woods Charter School, and assisted in the development of Green Woods application process.  She was an integral member of the team responsible for preparing for Green Woods to open its doors in September 2002.  She has been an active member of the Board of Trustees, serving initially as Secretary and then as Vice President since the school was chartered in August 2002.  Dana has been deeply involved in Green Woods’ day-to-day business operations and has had extensive contact with state and local agencies and business contractors associated with Green Woods Charter School.

Dana has a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Temple University and has worked many successful years in the landscape design, installation and maintenance field.  She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management. She has owned and operated a furniture restoration business with her husband, Paul, for the past 15 years where she is responsible for her company’s accounts payable and receivables.

She has been a member of Central Roxborough Civic Association's Parks and Beautification committee assisting in the restoration of many neighborhood parks and was a volunteer for the 21st Ward's Meals on Wheels program serving housebound senior citizens.

Dana and Paul are the parents of Jacob, who is in fourth grade, and Matthew who is in first grade at Green Woods Charter School.
